What is iodine, why do we need it and how does our bodies utilize iodine? Iodine, Health Tips, Healthy Living & Homeopathic Medicine

I recently went to a holistic chiropractor who performs muscle tests on your body. These muscle tests are known to show you what your body lacks in regards to hormones, supplements, minerals etc.

The holistic doctor put me on a eat for your blood type sugar control program for the next 14 days along with a candida, parasite herbal cleanse and also gave me iodine drops to drink every day in 24 ounces of water.

I take the herbs twice a day with juice which tastes pretty nasty and drink the iodine water slowly throughout the day.

I understood why the holistic doctor gave me the herbs, but I didn’t understand why he wanted me to drink iodine for the next 14 days.

With a little research this is what I found…

I found it interesting that iodine was discovered in 1811 by Bernard Courois. His family was in the Saltpeter business which is a vital part of gunpowder. This was around the Napoleonic Wars in France and gunpowder was on high demand.

While trying to make sodium carbonate for their families product, Bernard added too much sulfuric acid to the burnt seaweed and a cloud of purple vapor formed. He noticed that the vapor crystallized on cold surfaces, making dark crystals.
